Security Problem : While finding a solution, downloading link will be removed.

EnjoyYourPosting, a Movable Type 3.3's plugin, enables you to use nice WYSIWYG editor(FCKeditor) in entry editor, also in QuickPost's editing, and provides some MT interface styles, so called alogblog's MT interface to you.

In previous version, this plugin provided FCKeditor to only alogblg's MT interface, not to native MT interface. This is because I made alogblog's MT interface at first, and then adopted FCKeditor into it later. However some users didn't like my MT interfaces and others like Farsi language(characters from right to left) user wanted FCKeditor on "native" MT interfae.

So in this version, I decoupled alogblog's MT interface with FCKeditor itself. This means you can use FCKeditor on native MT interface, also you can use MT's editor on alogblog's MT interface, and vice versa.

And I focused in some performance issues of stlye changing and others. FCKeditor version 2.3.1 improved a problem of loading many small button images, so as a result, "EnjoyYoutPosting" could work better than previous version.

In addtion to it, I combined my FCKeditor's Tagging plugin into this Movable Type system. By tagging soem text using Tagging plugin, you can automatically insert that tag into "Keywords" or "Tags" field.

Lastly, I combined a FCKeditor plugin, "ImageManager", which enables you to process uploaded images on the fly, especially watermarking feature seems good.

Hey MT users, developing this plugin gave a little pain to my head, because I had to combine serveral elments into one and investigate new MT 3.3's interface template structures and catch new FCKeditor vesion's plugin API, and so on. As a result, I'm so exhausted now and, I think this entry seems insufficient to fully and kindly explain its usage. If you have some question, please see previous version entry at first.

I wish my humble "EnjoyYourPosting" plugin makes you really enjoy your MT posting.

The webSSearchy, the plugin for Movable Type 3.3, enables you to embed AJAX web service consumer into your entries. There are many web service API open, Google, Yahoo, Technorati, and so on. As time passes, more and more web service will be usable. But benefiting these web services was a pie in the sky to normal users, bloggers because it needs some technical knowledge and there has been not so many usable web service consumer tool.

Blog is a very good platform to consume such web services systematically. Movable Type has supported Google search. I think, however, this has not been popular to MT bloggers. Why? First MT is a mainly static publishing platform, although dynamic publishing also can be possible. As a result, using Google Search MT tags and saving an entry will take more building time, Moreover the response of Google's web service is the slowest compared other web service. I guess Google doesn't focus system resource on that. Secondly, the embeded Google search results will be outdated and broken as time passes.

I think that if web services have to be connected with blogs, then its form of connection may be AJAX, decoupling of entry building and consuming web service. The webSSearchy is such a thing.

In previous and the first version, many customizings have to be done in CGI source level, and its customzing only affect system wide, no blog wide. This upgraded 3.3.01 version reinfored full customzing in a level of each blogs, each web service, each service's targets. So this entry has to be a relatively long, but you can use it well by default without knowing customzing parts and just following install steps.

If you are new to webSSearchy plugin, please see previous version's intoduction part shortly.

Go to Korean entry

This entry especially explains how to create a Guestbook ( My MT guestbook example) by using this plugin and MT's dynamic features.

It is an updated version of CategoryPager plugin. If you want to apply pager to entries in category archives, you can also do by using it, however you should refer its explanations in Categorypager using MT's CGI (Be careful old <$MTCaterotyPager$> tag is changed to <$MTSomeMTPager$>)

It adds a comment paging feature in Individual entry archive. But you have to know it is not a general purposed comment pager.(I can't guarantee its other application) It's developing purpose is to make a guestbook with pager by Movable Type. It never publish any static files, it only uses MT's dynamic CGI featue like mt-view.cgi. In default MT, commenting is done by mt-comments.cgi. However I chose to use mt-view.cgi in order to avoid potential collisions, because some not so few plugins or hacks use mt-comments.cgi.

To make a Guestbook with pager, you only need to create additional blog. And all four templates(Site Javascript, Stylesheet, Individual, Comment Listing templates) and no publishing with any archve type will be enough.

As shortly explained above, this guestbook works dynamically. So you don't need to publish any entries, archives. Then you might ask, could a guestbook ugins MT/Perl CGI have a good performance? My guestbook is based on Berkley file DB and have a few test messages by me. So I can't assure its dynamic performance. However, I can tell you that "Guestbook" is not a BBS. You and your visitors nearly don't use "search(highy dynamic)" feature and don't navigate guestbook. At times you(the guestbook owner) only use page navigation. As a result, guestbook don't need high dynamic performance. Instead guestbook need only a fast commenting(leaving a message) response and some anti-spam features.

By using MT's CGI in creating guestbook, we can benefit some like using MT's several anti spam featues/plugins and using familiar MT template in design and MT's StyleCatcher plugin to adapt easily well-made skins.

Why not invest half an hour(except for your own nice CSS designing time) to add your guestbook?

This Movable Type plugin makes you enable to use paging feature in "category archives". It's generally not necessary for us to page date-based archives because date-base can work intrinsic paging. But category archives will be longer and longer as time passes. So we need category paging.

In Movable Type system, if we want to use paging feature, officially we have to PUBLISH our entries with PHP or so, not with static HTML. Two constraint are required, publising and using PHP.

But Movable Type system itself is a dynamic system although we easily forget. If we use MT's unofficial feature like "mt-view.cgi", we don't have to PUBLISH(or REBUILD category archives), and don't have to use PHP.

This entry is for MT 3.2 version. If you use MT 3.3, see this entry

webSSearchy is a Movable Type plugin which enables your visitors to easily search more related pages in the web space with a help of your own suggesting search queries, the AJAX technique, and some Web Service API. Currently I provide three CGI, which are for Google, Naver(for Korean), Yahoo web services, and one additional CGI which makes MT's original serach CGI(mt-search.cgi) work as a simple search webservice.

You can see its working.

When visiting other's blogs, we frequently have an experience that we want to know more on that subjects or techniques. In that case, we use search engines. As of now, most browsers have easy-to-use search input box, so doing search itself is a piece of cake. I think the most(?) time-comsuming and important step in doing search is the selection of suitable search keywords, or queries. Of course if we have a sufficient background on that subject, that also could be easy. But if that subject of an entry is new to us, we might hesitate in choosing search queries. In such a situation, one definite fact to be undeniable in general is that THE AUTHOR of that entry is more likely to know the subject. Once an author presents his/her visitors with search querties and one-click AJAX search system, some visitors will save their efforts on thinking proper queries and doing search. To view this in a broad prospect, it will help to increase the entropy of Web.

Why do we bloggers insert Tag Link into our blog's entry? There are mainly two different purposes. The first is simply for advertising our blog/entry by means of Meta Tag sites like Technorati. We want to have much opportunities to publicize our entry as possible as we can. Tag is one of the ways for doing. We may call it external purpose.

The second is for internally managing tags(or keywords) of blog. In this case, we may consider tag as a subdivided category. With computer terms, category is like "Partition or Drive", tag is like "Folder". We use tag for categorizing our entries in more detail.

For the first purpose, the FCKeditor's "Tagging" plugin provided by Full Featured FCKeditor on Movable Type plugin is quite sufficient. For the second purpose, we need other tag-managing plugin like "Tags.App", "Tagwire", or MT's "Tags Plugin". These plugins use internally MT's category or external PuginData for managing tags. By using these we can display "Tag Cloud" or something.

Technorati, Flickr, Delicious, and Wikipedia.

In the middle of writing a post, you may think I want "this word(s)" to be a "tag" of a proper site. If that word is about definition of somthing, you may want it to be a tag of Wikipedia. If it's about picture, it may be of Flickr. In those cases, you just drag that word(s), and click "Tagging" toolbar button, and then lastly click proper icon. In that case, can this Tagging plugin coexist other Tag managing plugin? Absolutely you can. There are many available open WYSIWYG editors. I've used HTMLArea and FCKeditor. Both are very good, even though they give some loads to your PC. But as time goes by, this load could be trivial.

My alogblogMTinterface plugin uses many alternate templates. Therefore the users who use my alogblogMTinterface might have some troubles in personally adapting other WYSIWYG editors. Of course I also have the same trouble whenever new W~G editors or its MT plugins are released. So I decided to provide W~G in it independently. One of the powerful features of FCKeditor is the Media Browser which is is included by default. It is that feature for which I choose FCKeditor as its W~G editor.

This plugin is alogblogMTinterface's updated(FCKeditor added) version. So naturally I should have added the content of this page into the origianl page. But in order to explain W~G features more definitely, I created this new plugin page separately. If you have some doubt about alogblogMTinterface itselt, read the original page.

What is a default template in Movable Type ?

Default templates are those which are automatically created by creating new blog.
And by virtue of MT 3.2's TemplateRefresh plugin, default templates can be restored in existing blogs.

In some cases, we may want to provide MT with our own default templates. By doing this, we can reduce additional routine processes. MT's TemplateRefresh can't do this, because this plugin only works for predefined default templates.

If you want to make a template as default in MT, first you have to locate that under (mt home)/default_templates/ folder. Next, you have to add some required informations into (mt home)/lib/MT/default-templates.pl by your hands. Lastly, for complete measures, you have to add template's digest information into TemplateRefresh.pl plugin file. These steps for making templates to be default are routinary. So I develped this tool.

This "Add Default Templates" is a tool that can add your default template to MT system and TemplateRefresh plugin. It can also delete your default template from those.
